Addressing several questions about the maintenance of local effort by school districts under the Education Improvement Act. In particular, Section 12-35-1557 of the South Carolina Code of Laws (1989 Cum. Supp.) requires that a district maintain the same effort that it did the previous year, adjusted for inflation.
