Attorney General Alan Wilson announces arrest of Anderson man for criminal sexual conduct with a minor

(COLUMBIA, S.C.) – July 10, 2018 - Attorney General Alan Wilson announces that William Jolly, 26, from Anderson, SC, was arrested today on two charges of criminal sexual conduct with a minor- 3rd degree.  He appeared before Judge Scott Sprouse who set his bond at $40,000.00 with an order from the Judge that he shall have no contact with the victim or other minors and that he will wear a GPS monitor.

It is alleged that William Jolly committed lewd and lascivious acts with a minor under the age of 16 in Anderson and Berkeley counties on multiple occasions from 2015-2017. A person found guilty of criminal sexual conduct with a minor-3rd degree (§16-3-655) must be fined in the discretion of the court or imprisoned not more than fifteen years, or both.

Attorney General Wilson stressed all defendants are presumed innocent unless and until they are proven guilty in a court of law.
