Horry County Man Arrested on Child Pornography Charges

(COLUMBIA, S.C.) - June 4, 2019 - South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson announced the arrest of Ronald Gregg Hinch (age 66) of Myrtle Beach, SC, on 10 charges connected to the sexual exploitation of a minor.  Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force investigators with the Horry County Sheriff's Office made the arrest.  Investigators with the Walton County Sheriff's Office (member of the North Florida ICAC TF), Conway Police Department (also a member of the SC ICAC TF), Myrtle Beach Police Department and Coastal Carolina Police Department assisted with this investigation and arrest.

 

Investigators state Hinch distributed multiple files of child pornography.  

 

Hinch was arrested on May 30, 2019.  He is charged with 10 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, second degree (§16-15-405), a felony offense punishable by up to 10 years imprisonment on each count.  He has additional related charges pending in Florida.

 

The case will be prosecuted by the Attorney General's Office.

 

Attorney General Wilson stressed all defendants are presumed innocent unless and until they are proven guilty in a court of law.
