Aiken County Man Arrested on Child Pornography Charges

(COLUMBIA, S.C.) - Aug. 15, 2019 - South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson announced the arrest of Grant Nicholas Reeder (age 19) of  Jackson, SC, on 24 charges connected to the exploitation of a minor.  Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force investigators with the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office made the arrest.  

 

Investigators state Reeder engaged in criminal sexual conduct with a minor, solicited a minor for sex, produced multiple files of child pornography, distributed child pornography, possessed child pornography, and distributed nude images to a minor.

 

Reeder was arrested on August 12, 2019.  He is charged with five counts of criminal sexual conduct with a minor, second degree (§16-3-655(B)(1)); five counts of criminal sexual conduct with a minor, third degree (§16-3-655(C)); five counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, first degree (§16-15-395), a felony offense punishable by up to 20 years imprisonment on each count; one count of sexual exploitation of a minor, second degree (§16-15-405), a felony offense punishable by up to 10 years imprisonment; one count of sexual exploitation of a minor, third degree (§16-15-410), a felony offense punishable by up to 10 years imprisonment; five counts of criminal solicitation of a minor (§16-15-342), a felony offense punishable by up to ten years imprisonment on each count; and two counts of disseminating obscene material to a person under age eighteen (§16-15-345), a felony offense punishable by up to ten years imprisonment on each count.

 

The case will be prosecuted by the Attorney General's Office.

 

Attorney General Wilson stressed all defendants are presumed innocent unless and until they are proven guilty in a court of law.
