Darlington County Man Arrested on Criminal Sexual Charges with a Minor

(COLUMBIA, S.C.) - Sept. 23, 2019 - South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson announced the arrest of Trevor McKenzie Allen (age 34) of  Hartsville, SC, on four charges connected to the exploitation of a minor. Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force investigators with the Darlington County Sheriff’s Office made the arrest. Investigators with the Attorney General's Office, Florence County Sheriff's Office, and US Marshal's Service, all also members of the state's ICAC Task Force, assisted with the investigation.

 

Investigators received a CyberTipline report from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) which led them to Allen. Investigators state Allen engaged in criminal sexual conduct with a minor and solicited a minor for sex.

 

Allen was arrested on September 20, 2019. He is charged with three counts of criminal sexual conduct with a minor, third degree (§16-3-655(C)); and one count of criminal solicitation of a minor (§16-15-342), a felony offense punishable by up to ten years imprisonment.

 

The case will be prosecuted by the Attorney General's Office.

 

Attorney General Wilson stressed all defendants are presumed innocent unless and until they are proven guilty in a court of law.
