SC ICAC "Stay Safe Online Week"

(COLUMBIA, S.C.)   South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson announced his office is hosting a special town hall meeting for parents and children as part of SC Internet Crimes Against Children’s (ICAC) “Stay Safe Online” Week April 22-27.

The “Stay Safe Online” town hall meeting for parents, children, teachers and all concerned citizens will be held this Friday, April 26 from 7:00-8:30 p.m. at Meadow Glen Middle School, 440 Ginny Lane in Lexington, S.C.  It is open to the public and news media.

Attorney General Wilson will make opening remarks, and the meeting will be emceed by WIS-TV weekend anchor/reporter Meaghan Norman.  The featured speaker will be Joe Laramie, former commander of Missouri’s ICAC Task Force and a nationally recognized online safety expert.  The program will conclude with a panel discussion, where parents and children can ask questions to the panelists.  Gift bags will be given to the first 200 attendees.  The school with the largest attendance will be featured in a Public Service Announcement with Attorney General Wilson to be produced by WIS-TV during the 2013-2014 school year.
