Victim Service Provider (VSP) Application*
To be completed by new victim service providers, as defined by §16-3-1420.
*The VSP application is for initial registration with CVST to receive a VSP number and should be completed prior to attending any trainings. Completion of an accredited VSP 15-hour basic core training course is the only way to become a certified Victim Service Provider.*
Accreditation Application
To be completed by the sponsor of training and/or conference at least 30 days prior to the start of the training.
Non-Accredited Certification Request
To be completed by a certified VSP seeking continuing education credit for training not approved in advance by CVST. Requests must be submitted within 30 days after the training concluded.
- Basic Victim Service Providers (VSPs) must complete an approved 15 hour basic core training within one year of their date of hire to become a certified VSP.
- Once certified, VSPs must complete 12 approved continuing education hours annually by December 31st each calendar year to remain in compliance and active status as a VSP.
- Up to 12 additional hours will automatically be carried over to the following year’s certification training requirement once the current year’s requirement has been completed.
- Non-Accredited Certification Requests and required accompanying documentation are to be submitted online within 30 days of the training’s completion date in order to be considered for VSP credit.
- In order to receive credit for attending a CVST accredited training, you must sign CVST’s Sign-Out Sheet(s) with your name and VSP number in order to ensure proper credit is issued.
- Presenters who would like to receive credit for presenting at CVST accredited trainings must sign CVST’s presenter Sign-Out Sheet(s) with their name and VSP number. If a presenter attends the remainder of the training as a participant and would like CVST credit, they should also sign the VSP, Notifiers/Support Staff training Sign-Out Sheet. Presenters can earn up to 6 hours of approved VSP credit annually for training VSPs. See FAQs page for additional information.
