(COLUMBIA, S.C.) – Attorney General Alan Wilson today announced that the South Carolina Attorney General’s office has retained an outside consultant experienced in zoning and local government matters regarding Silfab Solar in York County.
The outside consultant will be reviewing documents received by the Attorney General’s office and providing their professional opinion on the process that was followed.
“My office has heard the concerns of many South Carolinians regarding this situation,” Attorney General Wilson stated. “Public safety is of the utmost importance to our office, and we want to do the right thing for our state.”
Over the last several months, correspondence has taken place between the Attorney General’s office, Silfab Solar, and York County Council. This all followed the initial reports of leaks at the solar panel manufacturing plant earlier this year.
