Executive Division
The Attorney General is the Chief Criminal Prosecutor, Chief Legal Officer, and Securities Commissioner. The Executive Division assists the Attorney General with these responsibilities by keeping him abreast of all legal matters to ensure that he is fully informed when making decisions. The Executive Division is comprised of Governmental Affairs, Constituent Services, Public Relations, and Solicitor General.
Programs
SC Valor Program: The SC-VALOR (Veteran and Armed Services Legal Outreach) Program coordinates existing legal resources for the military and veterans. We find support and fill-in where gaps exist, as well as minimize duplicate efforts. The program will consist of free legal clinics held around the state, and a referral line to connect veterans and members of the military with lawyers who will provide free or heavily-discounted legal help for problems too complex to be handled at the clinics. The legal clinics will be able to handle simple legal issues like writing wills and power of attorney documents.
Constituent Services
Constituent Services serves as the point of contact for the Attorney General to assist citizens with a wide array of matters that include responding to e-mails, phone calls, correspondence, and other matters.
