Attorney General Alan Wilson announces Spartanburg man sentenced to 15 years for lewd acts on a minor

(COLUMBIA, S.C.) – South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson announced that Lorin “Larry” Mixon, 91, of Spartanburg, was sentenced today to 15 years in prison after entering a plea to three counts of Lewd Act on a Minor. Judge Dan Hall presided over the case and sentenced Mixon to the maximum amount of time for that charge. He will have to register as a sex offender upon release.

Mixon, a former Marine, was already a registered sex offender when allegations came out that he was molesting boys in the community between the ages of 8 and 14. Mixon would provide these boys with gifts and take them on trips. The victims were present at the hearing and asked that Mixon receive the maximum sentence.

Assistant Attorney General Kinli Abee prosecuted the case and Assistant Attorney General Joel Kozak handled the plea.
