(COLUMBIA, S.C.) –South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson made the following statement regarding the passage of H.4756 in the South Carolina General Assembly.
“I applaud the House of Representatives and Senate for prioritizing the safety and well-being of women and girls in South Carolina. Our state's women and girls rely on the privacy of these spaces and the assurance that they are safe from any potential harm when using them. I am proud that South Carolina is taking this necessary step to keep men out of women's spaces."
"As Attorney General, I have fought to protect previous provisos on this matter in multiple courts. And as a father of a teenage daughter, I will always work to defend the rights of women and girls across our state to feel safe in their dedicated private spaces. I look forward to this bill being ratified and sent to the Governor's desk for his signature.”
