(COLUMBIA, S.C.) – Attorney General Alan Wilson announces that, on November 5, 2024, Andrew Jeremy Reed pleaded guilty to three counts of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor, Third Degree, in Richland County, before the Honorable Daniel Coble.
On October 1, 2023, agents with SC Probation, Parole, and Pardon Services conducted a probation compliance operation at Reed’s residence in Richland County. Reed tested positive for drugs; therefore, agents arrested him and searched his room. Agents seized two cell phones, and they found pictures of child sexual abuse material on the devices. A more thorough search of the devices seized under a search warrant was conducted that revealed 402 files of child sexual abuse material.
Judge Coble sentenced Reed to eight years at the South Carolina Department of Corrections, with credit for 401 days he’s already served. He consented to the forfeiture of his devices. Reed was already on the sex offender registry from a previous conviction, and will now be a Tier III sex offender.
Assistant Attorney General Kristen Johnson prosecuted the case for the state.
