Attorney General Alan Wilson announces Saluda County man gets 40 years for sex crimes against minors

(COLUMBIA, S.C.) – South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson announced that Devin Blake Saylor, 33, of Saluda County, S.C., pleaded guilty today to one count of Criminal Sexual Conduct with a Minor, First Degree, and one count of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor, Second Degree, and was sentenced to 40 years in prison by Judge Debra McCaslin.

On July 10, 2024, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children contacted Special Investigator Lucinda McKellar with the South Carolina Attorney General’s Office with a CyberTip about someone disseminating files believed to be child sexual abuse material.

Special Investigator McKellar used the videos to identify the suspect and trace his address to Saluda County. The IP address was used by a group of subscribers, one of whom was Saylor’s relative. She executed a search warrant at Saylor’s home. After being read his Miranda rights, Saylor admitted to touching a young girl and sending videos of her nude to at least two people online. He also admitted to having additional Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) on his electronic devices. A search warrant found additional images and videos of CSAM.

Judge McCaslin sentenced Saylor to 40 years at the South Carolina Department of Corrections, with credit for 622 days served. When he is released, he will have to register as a Tier 3 sex offender and will be subject to lifetime GPS monitoring.
