(COLUMBIA, S.C.) – South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson announced that today in Greenville, Timothy Allen Davis, 62, pleaded guilty before the Honorable Judge R. Lawton McIntosh to Sexual Exploitation of a Minor, First Degree, and Lewd Act upon a Child.
On September 29, 2021, a South Carolina Department of Probation, Parole, and Pardon Services agent was conducting a home inspection of Davis’s Greenville County home. Davis was previously sentenced to four years in prison and five years of probation because of a child sexual abuse material investigation led by the Greenville Sheriff’s Office. Davis disclosed to the agent that he still had electronic devices that contained child sexual abuse material that were overlooked during the Sheriff’s Office’s investigation. Davis also stated that included among the files were images Davis made of himself sexually assaulting a minor child within the same Greenville County home. This incident occurred in 2004. A forensic examination of the electronics corroborated Davis’s statements.
Judge McIntosh sentenced Davis to 10 years in prison for Sexual Exploitation of a Minor, First Degree, and 10 years for Lewd Act Upon a Child. Those sentences will run consecutively for a total sentence of 20 years in prison.
Assistant Attorney General Stephen Ryan prosecuted the case.
