Attorney General Alan Wilson applauds Ways & Means Subcommittee for unanimously passing H.4611

(COLUMBIA, S.C.) –Attorney General Alan Wilson issued the following statement regarding the passage of H.4611 the "Parental Leave for Stillbirth" Act:

"I would like to thank the House Ways and Means Subcommittee for unanimously moving H.4611 to the full House Ways and Means Committee. Under current state law, a birth qualifies for paid parental leave. A stillbirth IS the birth of a child. Parents who endure this traumatic tragedy deserve the time, support, and benefits guaranteed under the law. This clarification of state law is necessary to ensure these families get the benefits they deserve."
