(COLUMBIA, S.C.) – South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson is demanding answers from Silfab Solar in York County regarding yesterday's chemical spill.
"Nearby residents and particularly parents of children at the Flint Hill Elementary School next door are expressing serious and legitimate concerns regarding their safety and their children’s safety," Attorney General Alan Wilson stated. "Our state Constitution notes that the health, welfare, and safety of lives and property are matters of public concern."
The letter highlights complaints from residents and parents of students at nearby Flint Hill Elementary School regarding their own and their children's safety after the chemical spill at Silfab on March 3rd. The spill included potassium hydroxide, a dangerous chemical that can cause serious health effects in several ways.
