Attorney General Alan Wilson sends letter to York County Council regarding Silfab Solar

(COLUMBIA, S.C.) – South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson is seeking answers from York County Council regarding Silfab's zoning permissions.

"As I have reviewed questions from concerned citizens, there appears to be some confusion over the status of some of Silfab's manufacturing operations under its present zoning," Attorney General Alan Wilson stated. "As the Chief Legal Officer of the State, I would like to understand the process of how Silfab received their current zoning and permits."

The York County Board of Zoning Appeals previously determined that solar cell and panel manufacturing were not a permitted use under the facility's zoning. Silfab has appealed that decision, and the case is tied up in litigation. The letter requests that the York County Council provide answers to questions surrounding Silfab's specific zoning permissions.
