Columbia - Attorney General Alan Wilson announced today that James Edward McDaniel, 47, of 1334 Broad Street, Apt. 114 in Sumter, South Carolina was arrested on March 16, 2011, by the Sumter County Sheriff's Office on child pornography charges.
The Sumter County Sheriffs’ Office is a member of the Attorney General's Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
McDaniel is charged with ten (10) counts of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor (§16-15-405), 2nd Degree, a felony offense punishable by up to ten (10) years imprisonment on each count.
McDaniel is charged with possession of graphic digital photographs and videos depicting children in a sexual nature. Arrest warrants allege that forensic examination found five (5) videos containing multiple child pornography images on McDaniel’s two computers.
McDaniel is being held at the Sumter-Lee Regional Detention Center, where bond has been requested to be set at $100,000.

The case will be prosecuted by the Attorney General's Office.
Wilson stressed that all defendants are presumed innocent unless and until they are proven guilty in a court of law.
