York County Sheriffs’ Office Arrests Local Man on 4 Counts of Child Pornography

Attorney General Alan Wilson announced today that Rion McKissick Rutledge Jr., 45, of 1108 Hummingbird Lane, in Rock Hill, South Carolina was arrested on March 30, 2011, by the Sumter County Sheriff's Office on child pornography charges.

The York County Sheriffs’ Office is a member of the Attorney General's Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

Rutledge is charged with four (4) counts of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor (§16-15-405), 2nd Degree, a felony offense punishable by up to ten (10) years imprisonment on each count. Rutledge is charged with possession of child pornography. Arrest warrants allege Rutledge was in possession of various digital videos depicting various minors engaged in graphic sexual activities.

Rutledge was booked at the York County Regional Detention Center and is out on a personal recognizance bond which prohibits him from computer or internet access. A booking photo is available through the York County Detention Center.

The case will be prosecuted by the Attorney General's Office.

Wilson stressed that all defendants are presumed innocent unless and until they are proven guilty in a court of law.
