York Sheriff Arrests Clover Couple In Internet Predator Case

Attorney General Alan Wilson announced today that Christopher James Strickland, 22, and Courtney Danielle Strickland, 20, both of 1408 Woodridge Drive in Clover, South Carolina, were arrested on September 1, 2011, in an Internet Predator case investigated by the York County Sheriff’s Office.

The York County Sheriff’s Office is a member of the Attorney General’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

The Stricklands are each charged with one (1) count of Criminal Solicitation of a Minor (§16-15-342), a felony offense punishable to ten (10) years imprisonment.

Arrest warrants allege that the Stricklands both used the Facebook Chat & Messaging System on June 25, 2011, to solicit sex from a fifteen (15) year old male living in the neighborhood. Mr. Strickland’s request was followed by his wife’s. The boy’s mother discovered the chats, and reported the material to the York County Sheriff’s Office.

Bond for each of the Stricklands has been set at $5,000. Booking photos are available through the York County Detention Center.

The case will be prosecuted by the Attorney General’s Office.

Wilson stressed that all defendants are presumed innocent unless and until they are proven guilty in a court of law.
