On when the Governor has the mandatory duty to suspend an official charged with alleged embezzlement of public funds and appoint someone to the position until the suspended official has been acquitted or in case of conviction, the position will be declared vacant to be filled as may be provided by the law (Section 8 of the South Carolina Constitution).
