South Carolina Human Trafficking Task Force

Melanie Williams, Program Coordinator for Certification and Grants 

Melanie serves as a member of the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) Programs and the South Carolina Human Trafficking Task Force team as the liaison to service providers across the state for Safe House Project Certification and human trafficking grants. Prior to this role, she was the State Task Force’s Training and Outreach Program Assistant responsible for coordinating statewide professional training, presentations and special events. Melanie also assisted with identifying topics and presenters for specialized training, securing venues, and promoting such initiatives.  She also supported the coordination of the prevention education initiative across South Carolina through outreach and organizational support. 

A graduate of Liberty University, Melanie earned a degree in Psychology.  Prior to coming to the VAWA/Human Trafficking area, she spent three years with the South Carolina Office of the Attorney General in the civil litigation area. Melanie is excited for her new role and hopes to support direct service providers in their efforts to receive state human trafficking-specific certification and monitor the use of human trafficking grant funds designed to develop and/or expand programming in South Carolina.
